The Women in School Leadership Forum is the premier networking and educational experience designed to engage, enlighten, empower and connect women education leaders from across the country.

Keynote Speakers

Lisette Estrella-Henderson

An educator for over 34 years, Lisette is the first elected Hispanic woman to serve as the Solano County Superintendent of Schools. A sought-after influential speaker and author of numerous articles, Lisette’s expertise includes Women’s Leadership Development; Equity, Diversity, and Cultural Proficiency; Strategic Thinking; and Instructional Leadership Coaching.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Davis; and a Master’s in Education from the California State University, Sacramento with a focus on bilingual cross-cultural education and curriculum and instruction. A former Director on the ACSA State Board, and current ACSA Region 4 President, Lisette is a certified leadership coach and proudly represents K-12 public education as a member of several leading educational and community organizations including: the California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA); U.C. Davis Computing, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (C-STEM) Girls in Robotics Leadership (GIRL) Advisory Board; California Collaborative for Education Excellence (CCEE) Advisory Council, First 5 Solano Children and Families Commission; Solano Economic Development Corporation; Solano Partnership Against Violence; Solano Community Corrections Partnership; Solano Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council; Solano Coalition for Better Health; Solano Community College Educational Foundation Board of Directors; Solano Kids Thrive; Solano Children’s Alliance and Child Abuse Prevention Council; Vacaville Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors; and local Chambers of Commerce.
Lisette’s extensive knowledge, experience, and leadership have earned her local, statewide, and national recognition including: 2018 Woman of the Year from the 3rd Congressional District; Women in Educational Leadership Award, American Association of School Administrators (AASA); Outstanding Woman Leader Award, Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 4; Curriculum and Instruction Administrator of the Year, ACSA (chapter, regional, and state awards); Community Recognition Award, La Raza Lawyers Association of Solano; Distinguished Educator Award, Dixon Unified School District, Woman of Distinction Award, Soroptimist International of Dixon; and Champions for Children Award, Children’s Network of Solano County.

Seconde Nimenya

Seconde Nimenya is an award-winning author, inspirational speaker and a diversity leadership advocate. Her area of specialization is in helping her audience understand themselves and one another, be tolerant of one another, and evolve through adversity.

Seconde holds two bachelors’ degree and an MBA, is fluent in three languages and she blends her varied backgrounds to create dynamic presentations, using a unique approach that is both inspiring and empowering.

Her TEDx Talk on race and other identity constructs, titled “We Are Not All That Different” continues to inspire people worldwide. In this talk, Seconde makes the case that at our very core, we are far more alike than different; and she urges people to celebrate each other’s differences. Whether it’s about speaking up against child marriage, the violence against women, or supporting organizational leaders in their diversity efforts, Seconde’s message is timely and about growing leaders in a world of differences.

She is the author of four books, including her new young readers edition: “A Long Way to School: A Story of Overcoming Challenges and Never Giving Up,” in which she shares her life journey and the life lessons she has learned along the way, to inspire and empower young readers aspiring to be good leaders.

In 2017, Seconde Nimenya received the Seeds of Hope Award by RESUTLS. And in 2019, she also received the Bold and Resilient Woman Award for her work on bridging the gaps between diverse and multicultural communities, and inspiring people with her leadership insights.

Ember Conley

Dr. Ember Conley has served students for over 24 years as a coach, middle school math teacher, high school principal, elementary principal, assessment director, and deputy superintendent, and superintendent. She was awarded the Arizona School Administrators Outstanding Dissertation in 2010 for her research in the learning styles of Native American Students. She currently serves on the Executive Board for the Horace Mann League and ASCD Legislative Committee. Additionally she is the Past President Utah Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (UASCD) and served on the National ASCD Nominations and Policy and Advocacy Committees and AASA Governing Board. She received her Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University, her elementary teaching certificate from Fort Lewis College, her Masters of Art in K-12 Administration and Policy from University Colorado-Denver, and her Education Doctorate in Curriculum and Leadership from Argosy University – Phoenix. She currently serves 65,000 students as the superintendent in Mesa Public Schools in Mesa, Arizona.
