Curriculum design, development, implementation and evaluation have become complex processes in today’s schools. New school site leaders assigned curriculum leadership duties often are placed in these roles without prerequisite knowledge and skills. Thus, this institute was designed to help educators with newly assigned curriculum leadership responsibilities to gain a deeper understanding of how to get started, tips and techniques to be successful, what resources are available, and how to continue to improve in that area of leadership. This institute constitutes twelve session program and is not intended to replace the next level which is Curriculum and Instruction Academy, but is suggested as a first step learning experience. Like the Aspiring Principals Institute, the Curriculum and Instruction 101 Institute as an In-District program is always redesigned after consultation with district leadership, to meet the needs and specifications of each district involved.
