- Many challenges face the new leaders of California Schools
- Coaching will build leadership capacity
- The role of the principal has been redefined, requiring new skills sets and a new kind of training
- Traditional administrative development programs, alone, cannot fully prepare the educational leaders of today and tomorrow
- The need for leadership coaching is strongly supported by research
ACSA/NTC leadership coaching programs meet the needs of California's principals.
The type of growth for the school principal provided through leadership coaching is what both research and common sense demand. The ACSA/NTC Leadership Coaching Program combines the structure, outreach, curriculum, communication and collaborative capabilities of ACSA with the research, polished training, and data-based evaluation/assessment resources of the University of California, Santa Cruz, to provide California's principals with the bridge between "knowing" the research, skills, and policies behind effective school administration and "performing and positively thriving" as an educational leader skilled in guiding continuous growth in student achievement.
