The Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) and the New Teacher Center (NTC) have partnered to offer an alternative program for the Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential. The Alternative Clear Credentialing Program (ACCP) provides two years of on-site individualized coaching by certified Leadership Coaches to novice school administrators. Driven by the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (CPSELs), candidates create an individualized plan for demonstrating performance standards that will determine the focus for coaching. Successful candidates will receive their credential at the end of the two-year period.
CANDIDATES WILL:
- Participate in two years of one-to-one coaching with a certified leadership coach
- Receive 3-6 hours of coaching monthly at the candidate’s school site
- Receive ongoing telephone and e-mail support from their leadership coach
- Document evidence of meeting CPSEL standards
- Participate in local Leadership Institutes each year at no extra cost
- Coaching provided through several ACSA/NTC local coaching affiliate programs (see 2010-2011 Local Program Affiliates section above)
- Coaching generally provided through contract with districts ($3,500 - $4,000/year), but may be provided by contracting with individual candidates
- Credentialing, online formative & summative assessment, and professional development training will be provided through a credential fee that is generally the responsibility of the candidate ($2,000 total over two years, can be paid in four payments of $500.00)
