Categorical Programs Academy

This intensive 30-hour academy is designed around the California Professional Standards for Educational Leaders. Its purpose is to assist leaders in facilitating an integrated approach to maximizing services to students through the use of categorical resources. The elements of the training include: state programs, federal programs, needs assessment, program goals and objectives, resource allocation and budgeting.

With prior approval from a CCTC approved Tier II program, Academy hours may be used to fulfill a portion of the ATP Practicum or fieldwork requirements for Tier II programs.

This academy is scheduled as a combination of day-long (8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.) and weekend sessions (Fridays, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays, 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.). The registrant receives 30 hours of instruction by attending all sessions as scheduled.
