Whenever the state faces a budget shortage, it seems politicians immediately attack Proposition 98 to solve the problem. The fact is Proposition 98 exists to protect funding for students’ education – students who had nothing to do with creating this budget shortfall.
Students and schools should not suffer for the current budget problems.
“It’s no secret that the resources California provides to schools and students don’t match the expectations the state has set for them. If California’s goal is to raise student achievement in all of our classrooms, then the governor and lawmakers must fund our schools accordingly,” said Bob Lee, Past President of the Association of California School Administrators.
The Protect Our Students Toolkit provides everything you need to help in the effort to protect Prop. 98. You can find additional information about the campaign to protect the education budget at www.protectourstudents.org.
