The Diversity Task Force is part of the Equity, Achievement and Diversity for Success Committee.
The purpose of the Diversity Task Force is to create a plan that builds on ACSA’s statewide membership campaign which will include specific outreach strategies to underrepresented administrators in the state. All administrators must focus on closing the achievement gap in our schools and districts and on ensuring that all students meet standards.
ACSA firmly believes in the importance of diversity and has long worked toward this goal. To that end, we have created the materials in the Diversity Toolkit as part of the Diversity Action Plan. ACSA hopes this plan will help the association to be more inclusive, to provide access to administrators from underrepresented groups into positions of leadership in ACSA, and assist in the recruitment and retention of a more diverse membership.
The plan will roll out over the next three to five years, with the first year’s focus being on recruitment and communication. We hope you will join us as we make ACSA a more inclusive association providing a voice for all school leaders.
We must create a momentum for closing the achievement gap. We must reverse the predictable trends of educational access, achievement and success for some students and not others.
