    The need to recruit, support and retain the next generation of school leaders is well documented in research. This is an issue that needs a strategic approach, and an investment in leadership.
  • Colleagues promote understanding between generations
    ACSA has been focusing on reaching out to younger administrators. As members of the Boomer generation start to get closer to retirement age and leave the profession, they will have to be replaced by the next generation of school leaders, who will come from Generation X. In turn, ACSA will need these new leaders to be a part of the association to keep it vibrant and a player in state politics.
  • Initial steps on funding reform taken
    In regard to the recent release of studies on school governance and finance overhaul, ACSA and other members of the Education Coalition are taking the stance that any reforms or efficiencies must be tied to adequate resources for schools.
  • Arts task force to recommend policy
    The California Arts Education Strategic Task Force has met to begin the process of developing recommendations to provide quality arts education in schools statewide.
  • Providing diverse support
    Classified Educational Leaders – who are they? They are employees in the education realm that encompass many, many areas.
  • CELs encompass many different job titles
    Executive assistants. Business officials. Transportation directors. Facilities managers. Public information officers. No other job category within ACSA is as diverse as that of classified educational leaders.
