There’s still time to sign on to participate in an upcoming lobby day focusing on protecting the earned benefits of retired educators.

Hosted by members of the Retirement Coalition, including ACSA, the event will be held Tuesday, Feb. 7 in Sacramento. The day will begin with a 9 a.m. briefing at the ACSA Sacramento office, followed by meetings with lawmakers and policymakers. A press event has been scheduled for 11 a.m. on the north steps of the State Capitol, featuring speakers from participating organizations. The day will conclude with a 3 p.m. debriefing, also at the ACSA office. A continental breakfast and lunch are provided.

Focus topics include proposals from the governor’s Twelve Point Plan for Pension Reform, including the creation of a hybrid plan, increasing retirement age, and implementing a three-year final compensation.
