District management teams have faced enormous challenges in providing students a quality education over the past two years, with education having suffered $17 billion in cuts.
Contract negotiations can be tough even in good times, but with drastically reduced resources leading to deep program cuts, the challenges grow exponentially.
To assist schools, ACSA has joined forces with the School Employers Association of California and Total School Solutions to offer Collective Bargaining Summits throughout the state.
With continuing reductions in state funding, the need for strategically planned and thoughtfully designed negotiations with employee groups is of more vital importance than ever before.
The Collective Bargaining Summit sessions provide potential solutions and best practices, as well as other resources and tools districts will find helpful.
The sessions are being offered at the following locations:
• Sept. 28 – Redding, Shasta UHSD.
• Sept. 29 – Sacramento, Natomas USD.
• Oct. 5 – Salinas, Monterey COE.
• Oct. 6 –Visalia, Visalia USD.
• Oct. 12 – Burbank, Burbank USD.
• Oct. 13 – Ventura, Ventura USD.
• Nov. 1 – Fontana, Fontana USD.
• Nov. 2 – Carlsbad, Carlsbad USD.
The summits will focus on the current fiscal situation and projections, developing an individualized game plan for districts, and will feature expert presenters and local practitioners who will offer an interactive exchange with summit attendees.
