Huge rally planned for Legislative Action Day
ACSA urges school leaders to join a March 23 rally at 10 a.m. on the south steps of the Capitol to protest further cuts to education funding and to highlight the need for the governor and legislators to invest in public schools and students.
ACSA fights for adult ed, ROP funding
One of the biggest concerns in the recently passed state budget is the inclusion of adult education and regional occupational centers and programs in the governor’s proposal for maximum local budget flexibility.
ACSA NDPs lead schools large and small
Since 1980, 28 principals have been honored in California as California National Distinguished Principals. In 2008, Rick Judd, principal of Loomis Grammar School, was selected as ACSA’s California NDP.
District makes gains in closing achievement gap
ACSA’s Equity, Achievement and Diversity for Success Committee is collecting examples of schools and districts that have had success in closing the achievement gap. San Leandro USD is one.
TCSII used as reform model at Maywood Middle School
Maywood Middle School in the Corning Union Elementary School District is featured as a Taking Center Stage-Act II Spotlight middle school that is successfully integrating technology into the curriculum.
