Voters support Aceves over state legislators
Results from a recent poll show strong voter support for Larry Aceves for superintendent of public instruction in 2010. In fact, 62 percent of voters said they are more likely to vote for a former principal and school superintendent than a legislator.
Stimulus funds available; Web site created for application
California is the first state in the nation to have an approved application for State Fiscal Stabilization Funds through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and LEAs are urged to act quickly to apply for funding.

Bills to Watch: Supt. Benefit bill pulled from committee
Among the legislation moving at the Capitol this year is Assembly Bill 164, Mendoza, D-Artesia, which was pulled by the author from an Assembly Education Committee hearing because he didn’t have the votes for passage.
CALPADS data deadline approaching
Local educational agencies should be aware that the deadline to correct 2008 student-level data is fast approaching, as is the rollout of the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System.
