Presenters sought for 2009 education technology event

The premier event for educational leaders interested in leveraging technology for increasing student learning – the Leadership 3.0 Symposium – will take place in San Diego, April 2-4, 2009.

This year’s inaugural event attracted more than 200 district, school and county educational leaders. Organizers are now soliciting presentations focused on the ways that technology can enhance and improve teaching, learning and leadership at the K-12 level.

Leadership 3.0 is an event “for administrators, by administrators.” Submissions need to be of high interest and relevance to the target audience and related to the conference theme, “Leadership, Technology, Innovation: Elements of 21st Century Leadership.”

Organizers are particularly interested in proposals on such topics as technology’s role in: transforming school culture; science, technology, math and engineering; closing the achievement gap; assessment and accountability; communication and collaboration; student motivation and engagement; improving graduation rates; how to get teachers to use the technology they have; professional learning communities; statewide student identifiers; as well as “how to” sessions on using such applications as PowerPoint, saving video from the web, and importing video to another program; and funding technology.

All proposals will be reviewed by a steering committee and decisions will be made in October. ACSA Technology Leadership Group representatives Rowland Baker and Kevin Silberberg are on this group.

More information and proposal submission forms are now open and available at www.lead3.org. Deadline for break-out session proposals is Oct. 1.
