Excitement is building as ACSA approaches its biggest event of the year, the annual Leadership Summit. In addition to the world-class career-building sessions the Nov. 6-8 summit in San Diego will deliver, special networking opportunities will ensure members get the most out of their experience.
Among the special celebrations this year is the Summit Kick-Off Reception and Dance Thursday on the USS Midway, the historic Navy ship docked within walking distance of host hotel the Manchester Grand Hyatt.
The Midway dance will include food, drinks and, of course, music. Docents will be available to conduct tours of the longest serving ship in U.S. history, which has become the most visited floating museum in the world.
The Midway was commissioned in 1945 to serve in World War II, and was still a flagship in Desert Storm in 1991.
That history now comes with spectacular, 360-degree nighttime views of the San Diego skyline, Coronado Island and the San Diego Bay Bridge.
The kick-off event on the Midway will be free with summit registration from 7:30-8:30 p.m. to registrants who display their conference name-badges. For those who arrive after 8:30 p.m., there will be a $15 admission charge.
The 2008 ACSA Leadership Summit will include several other special events, including the Membership Matters and Diversity Counts Breakfast, the Wake Up Café for new members and first-time summit attendees, the Women’s Leadership Breakfast, and the President’s Celebration and Awards Presentation.
