Join NAESP at a Reduced Rate
The National Association of Elementary School Principals, ACSA’s national affiliate, in an effort to promote membership in California, is offering specially negotiated membership rates to ACSA members in a pilot membership program through 2012.
ACSA’s Elementary Education Council has been involved in ongoing negotiations with NAESP for five years in an effort to provide California principals with the benefits of membership in both state ACSA and national NAESP. At last year's NAESP National Convention and Exposition in Nashville, Tenn., negotiations took place between NAESP and then-ACSA President Bob Lee, Elementary Executive Michael Bossi, Elementary Council President Steve Ahle and NAESP State Representative Dan Owens.
“The Elementary Education Council has greatly extended the benefits of being an ACSA member,” says Elementary Executive Michael Bossi. “In past years, it has been tough for ACSA members to come up with the regular $215 NAESP membership, but now ACSA elementary leaders have a huge value-added membership opportunity. For only $90 a year, full, regular ACSA members can join the National Association of Elementary School Principals as a ‘California Associate’. If you are an elementary leader and don’t take advantage of this opportunity, you’re crazy!”
Under the agreement, full, regular ACSA members can become “California Associates” in NAESP for only $90. This includes the following:
• Principal Magazine (leadership magazine by and for elementary principals): five issues per year
• Communicator newsletter (print/mail organizational newsletter): nine per year
• Report to Parents (for newsletter inclusion): nine per year
• Electronic publications including Leadership Compass (online newsletter): four per year; Research Roundup (research newsletter): four per year; Capitol Contacts (fed. leg info.): monthly; Before the Bell (links to other media/research sites and articles): monthly; Just in Time Resources (series of publications or purchase): monthly; Middle Matters Online: three per year; Student & Community News Today: three per year.
• Principal Help Line (pose questions and issues and have them addressed by designated senior principals from around the nation)
• Nova Southeastern University advanced degree programs discount
• Reduced registration fees for professional development programs, including Annual National Convention & Exposition
• Discount on National Principals Resource Center materials (books, tapes, videos)
• Full access to information on NAESP Online (Web site)
• Free American Student Council Association school membership
• Full access to all resources for Student National Honor Society
“California Associate” members will not have access to the following, due to duplication of ACSA benefits or in competition to ACSA and its vendors:
