Time is running out to register for 2011 CEL Institute

The last chance to register for ACSA's 2011 Classified Educational Leaders Institute is fast approaching.

This premiere professional learning event for classified leaders in California is designed for educational leaders in business/fiscal services, human resources/personnel, maintenance/operations, custodial, technology, facilities, student services/instructional, including confidential and administrative assistants.
It is an opportunity to get together, share information, and learn about issues that affect education. Presenters from various fields of expertise will share strategies and useful techniques to assist in providing students in California with a first-class education.

“CELs play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of any successful school system,” said Claudia Vicino, president of ACSA’s CEL Council. “In order to stay on top of their game, CELs need professional development and a venue for networking with colleagues. An increasing burden has been placed on CELs by education budget cuts. Due to cuts in administration, training of classified staff is more important than ever because these are the people who are now responsible for doing some of the duties performed by staff members that were cut. Schools and districts simply cannot function without CELs.”

The 2011 Classified Educational Leaders Institute will take place Sept. 22-23 at the Hilton Garden Inn, near San Francisco.

Keynote speakers include Matthew Emerzian, co-author, co-founder of “Every Monday Matters – 52 Ways to Make a Difference”; Jannett Jackson, interim president, College of Alameda; and Mike Robbins, author and results coach.
