ESSA Title IV Funding At-Risk | Write your congressional representative(s) today!

Despite ESSA authorizing $1.65 billion for the block grant, Congress is proposing to fund it far short of this goal. The Senate’s proposal allocates only $300 million while the House’s allocation would provide $1 billion, both far short of ESSA’s proposed authorization. If underfunded, school districts would either have to choose to fund some programs at a much lower rate or not offer specific programs at all.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Available October 1, 2016

Starting in 2016, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) will become available on October 1, 2016. Students entering college in fall 2017, can begin submitting their FAFSA on this date.
